My AU folder disapeared!!!

I have a MacBook Pro

ok. so i did a series of vst installs today and at some point my au folder just disapeared!
now, ableton still sees the folder but i can no longer see it finder.
any ideas as to what happened?

Hi LwsLddr,

that sounds very strange - it should be REALLY hard to get rid of your system AU folders. Please have a 2nd look, you should find them here:

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

"your-user-name"/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

folder hierarchy use to be as follows
HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/(inside this plug-ins folder were: AU, Components, HAL, MAS and a VST folders)

now the AU is gone.

it still shows up in live tho... very strange... my mbp crashed yesterday and went to blue screen for a while. I did a hard restart and it came back to life. I dont have time machine set up so thats not an option.

I hate not knowing what happened.

Comments, diagnosis?

- repairing permissions while booted from a system disk
- check your AU´s with Apple´s AULab -> http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2102.html

now the AU is gone.

Err...not sure if you are overlooking something, but AU plugins are always stored in the "components" folder. There is no folder with the name "AU" (unless you have created one). Is the components folder still there? If so, I guess there's nothing to worry about.
