is anyone using one of the edirol pcr controllers to control Live AND a MIDI device (specifically, I am getting a roland mt-32; got it with the m-audio firewire i purchased).
has anyone been able to use their edirol controller to run BOTH an external MIDI device (like the roland) AND Live? Obviously, I don't expect to be able to run them simultaneously, but, for example, can I set the Roland as "preset 3" in the edirol (connected via the edirol's midi out) and be able to switch back and forth from midi control to USB control without disconnecting cables? the manual suggests that if the midi ports are "plugged", the USB connection will not work. I would like to be able to have the roland as one of the 16 (?) presets on the edirol, even though most of what i do involves my computer.
alternatively, could i control the roland with my edirol pcr controller by hooking up the roland to my m-audio firewire card and somehow routing the roland and the edirol together within my computer?
