I just wanted to add my thoughts on this ... judging by the design of the logo it looks like it must be a four operator fm synth hence the four squares in the name

i also noticed in the picture folder there is a operatorproductinfo.tif file but ya open it and its a serene snowy trail in the trees must have replaced that file cause they knew sooner or later someone'd look there

I want Freeze and Arpeggiator...but if it's an addon I guess it's a synth of sorts. But I'd love a Ableton loop pack or something.

Angstrom, you're my man. You have mentioned the 3 big things I too would like to see implemented. Oh, one more (a small thing but could be helpful): a choice of font size in clip/scene/track labels, to fit in a few more characters for more specific labeling, either that or a way to scroll right.

But anyway, it's wild to see all this speculating and wishing going on after just having seen it happen with Reason 3.0!

best to all,
John
Angstrom wrote:I really hope it isn't another of these DVD sized loopbanks masquerading as a VSTi type of thing. It would take Live into some very dodgy (garage band) territory . Also it's not really enhancing the 'performance' aspect which makes Live stand out from the crowd.

But as far as controllers go: everyone's needs are different and there are controllers gallore out there already - it's even pretty easy to make one yourself!

I just hope they bring in ...

groupable hide-able tracks!

the ability to load more than one Live session - and crossfade between them ... Please, oh god please!
(I have to run traktor in the background now to cover the gaps!)

mp3 support - my laptop only has a 60 gig harddrive. I can think of 8 ways around this issue, I have already read the threads on why it isn't possible but they miss the point.

If these are in the next version I will be happy - they will help me play Live, live !

but I have all the synths, samples and controllers I need for now

here's my guesses:

1. an audio & midi editor
2. an audio/sample converter
3. a more complex sampler
4. an ableton exclusive hardware interface/controller
5. a skin editor
6. a plugin synth or something

i think the snowy trees could be a red herring.
and why are people still guessing what it "could be" we know what it is guys, just read the threads!

so it's an FM synth called "operator" then right?

cool, but why the lackluster name? The Abes should call it something like...

hmmmm I dunno...."monster operator" perhaps or even better yet
how about "MONSTER FM".

Now that has a ring to it dontcha think?

fm synth....

that would be really nice..

It would be a smart move from ableton...this way it would be a more complete,,self contained creation unit..sequencer.. sampler..drum machine,,and now a synth.. a fm one...

cool

I was wondering about a video sequencing tool..but the synth seems more useful on the evolution of ableton....

one things for sure - I'm about a thousand times more interested in this one than I was with Reason 3! R3 had alot of catching up to do and then it ran in the complete opposite direction
