Sample Pack to midi?

Post by clln » Mon Mar 30, 2009 9:01 pm

I have managed to pick up a few instrument packs online that work with Logic or Reason or whatever. They are instruments that I can't get in the Live packs. I have been using them as wav samples and triggering them with the Simpler, which is either totally tedious or degrading to the sound quality to not be able to use all the separately recorded tones. Any suggestions? Is there any way to assign the packs to midi notes?
I am still using Live 6 by the way.

i think the previous respondee got the wrong end of the stick.

do you just want to map a lot of the same sound recorded at differenet pitches across the keyboard? if so what you want is multisampling, see page 356 of the manual. It's dead easy in Sampler.

If you don't have Sampler a rack of Simplers will do it if there aren't too many samples.

If not a free sampler like ShortCircuit will let you load things in.

Hope that helps,

Some other samplers presets/kits can be converted to simpler (ie. Kontakt). Have you tried opening the kit with Sampler.
