Cant open my project!

Post by greencross » Fri Mar 27, 2009 9:54 am

 .

Cant open a file!

It says that i created it with a newer version of live which wasnt true because today i upgraded from 7.0.3 to 7.0.15 and couldnt open it either,

I even tried to open it with the latest live beta version, and the same message was displayed.

Ah and yes the program crashed while closing it, then when i opened back the file it would display the same message.

I sent you an email almost a year ago, and I only got response from the autoresponders.

Then i managed to send it again 2 weeks ago.

I only received an auto responder too.

In fact this has happened to me and to many people i know too.

Yes i didn't have a backup, but id like to rescue this project.

Again, I sent you an email back then and never got an answer, and sent it recently like 2 weeks ago and no one has contacted me either, I even uploaded the project to my server. Nada.

Please help me! I'm on the warranty period if there's one...........

Ah and I've tried with the latest Live Beta 8 and nada de nada too.

Sch*sse

Hello greencross,

When a set crashes while a program does write or read it from disk, it can unfortunately become corrupt.
That is valid for all computer programs. When a Live set is crashing while you play in Live etc. - Live can recover
the set usually quite well. If for some reason case a) happened to you, you can send your set our techsupport address
(see below) - we´ll check if it can be repaired then. We (techsupport) do not send auto-reply mails.

best,
Christian

I sent the set to techsupport long time ago. They also didn't give any warranty on repairing the project.

What's curious here, is that if the only thing you actually guarantee is that the software could crash while reading or writing a file, and that this is valid to all computer programs, then what would be the difference between getting a cracked version for free? Now with those responses you have sent to me, you just made me feel like I took money out of my pocket and set fire on it. Cos actually people don't pay for software, they pay for support and troubleshooting. Isn't that true?

I would really think it twice to get an upgrade to Live 8, sincerely, because, if when i have trouble, the only thing I hear from you guys is: "it happens and probably we wont be able to help you" then it just gives me the impression that you're not very serious when your customers have problems. And I always had the idea that you were very serious, that's why I chose to buy this software.

Besides that i get a message saying that tech support could take long to repair the project, "if there's a possibility to repair it" of course, because they are very busy with the launch of Live 8... then maybe if you're so busy, I would be keen to receive a Live 8 upgrade to ease the harshness of this issue.

Remember, is not only that the project is not opening, is that you don't get your hands dirty, and that my friends, that's called: no after sales service.

Sincerely

Daniel

Daniel,

My statement was a general statement about computer or application crashes with the result of a corrupted file.
As a paying customer we try everything possible to help you with such a problem (if you have a corrupted file) and
we´re happy to help with all other problems/questions/requests/wishes roundabout Live.

Best,
Christian
