The beta version worked fine for me. I have re-installed etc but to no avail..........Shit!

Sleep on it and try again tomorrow. Anybody else having problems?
I'm guessing there's something in your L7 prefs/template that L8 does not like (that's where L8 full takes its setting from).
As your beta worked OK - go to your L8 beta preferences folder, copy the preferences.cfg and the template.als from there and paste them into your Live 8 full prefs folder.

did that make sense / work?

if it now works, post a copy of your faulty (L7) preferences.cfg and template.als to ableton and include an explanatory note
Thanks Angstrom.
Tried the above, but still same problem.

Beta still opens fine, no problem. Live 8.01 crashes with error message every time. :(

This happened with me all the time in the beta. Instead of opening the default set, open a saved project, and make a new default template set.

Thanks NewSc2.

This has worked for me. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Live 8 here we come. I'm so happy. (sigh)

Great to see it finally shipped!

Now what is the news with Max for Live? They were announced at the same time, but there has been zero news about MfL... when it might ship, what will be the cost, will there be a beta program.

Some people got excited about Live 8 because it seemed like MfL was part of it (not costwise) but what, could it be 6months or a year before MfL is ready?

Another suite 7 with upgrade path to live 8 suite download, download complete but no way of activating it. E-mail sent to ableton support, has anyone got a reply from them yet on what to do?

Has anyone got any joy in activating it yet?

It is not very cool of Ableton to say in their sales pitch that you will receive a free upgrade as soon as 8 comes out, and then not back it up as soon as 8 comes out. Love the product, not real happy with the customer services right now :|

Please give them some times. This is a big release and their customers' service is probably heavily flooded with various issues. I understand your frustration but a bit of patience would help (I'm pretty sure everyone there is working its arse off in order to insure that the release goes as smooth as possible, but glitches are unavoidable).

What serial number did you use? When and where did you get it?

Mock: I know they are working hard. I just figured they would have this part of the launch ready and automated before go time. Either way, I downloaded the Suite 8 and am using the 14 day trial until everything gets sorted, or until novotnik tells me how to get my actual license working :D

It is all going to be ok.

This is the first time I have started to mess around with Operator. Pretty fucking cool. Took me a minute to realize what he fuck is going on though. Pretty happy with the Suite. Don't how much mileage I'll get out of the other instruments(other than Operator and Sampler) but for the discount you cant go wrong.

I'm with you on this Oddeo, it should have been sorted but I will be activating the 14 day trial and just getting on with sorting a new template out for the groups and I'm sure Ableton will sort us out as soon as poss or if Novotnik could shed some light on the activation situation that would be good.

It's been buggy as hell for me. And it got progressively slower and buggier throughout the day while i worked on a project.
