When I bought my copy of Live 7 I went for the "Live 7 Suite" because it had extras you didn't get with the basic version of live. I have to say it was very expensive but I thought it was worth it for the extras..... Only to find several months down the line these extras were available for free download to everyone who just bought the basic pack?! Gutted... Yes I was!!! I could have saved myself around £200 if I had just bought the basic live pack and waited.

The price of upgrading to Live 8 Suite is actually quite reasonable considering but is this another thing that any extras will become free within a set timescale?? I don't know if I really want to take that chance... :(

I'm not 100% sure on which you didn't get with just the standard live pack but the suite included Sampler, Operator , Electric, Tension , Analog , Drum Machines , Session Drums , and Essential Instrument Collection 2. Then they asppeared for download in the Downlaods/Live Packs section of the Ableton Website.... I thought it was an upgrade but when I treid to download and install it said I already had it so I'm assuming it was the basic extra packs?

I could be wrong.... It has happened in the past!! :P

I think these are only the preset sounds for the synths. You still need to own a license if you want to use them.
