EIC question (related to Suite upgrade)

I already have eic2.
Are there any additions to eic2 in Suite 8?
I'm assuming there aren't or it would be called eic3 now

Otherwise, the only diference for me between the boxed and download versions of Suite will be the printed manual and stickers.

I do like a printed manual but if eic2 is the same i'll probably go for the download version and save 30euro.

I believe that if you have EIC already, installing the upgrade will upgrade EIC automagically.

If not, you can download the EIC update at www.ableton.com/livepacks -- at least when it stops saying "internal server error"

Coupon or not, it's still $30 extra for the boxed version. So I'd like to know an answer to the original question... other than the printed manual, is there any difference between the download and boxed version of Suite 8 if you already own Suite 7 and EIC2?

So I think the differences between the download and boxed suite upgrades are that the boxed suite upgrade additionally provides you:

• 440 MB of abstract, experimental loops from renowned music software pioneers Cycling '74
• Over 400 loops and samples from Zero-G
• Printed reference manual in English, French, German or Japanese
• Ableton stickers
• DVD/CD's you can install the software from

Anyone found any difference to the answer above. I am still deciding which way to go.

I find the upgrade pricing steep as it is close to the amount I paid to upgrade from live 6 to suite 7 and that included EIC2, Operator, Sampler, Session Drums.... This upgrades does not include nearly that amount of content!!!!

I have had the EIC2 in Live 7 and installed a new version for Live 8 Suite yesterday.
In another thread about installation problems I wrote details about some problems in
EIC2 on my DVD installed on a PC. I didn't have those issues with the install on a Mac.

There is no real differences that I can tell, but the library arrangement is a little different.

I think the other (big) difference is that the box includes EIC2 and Session Drums, right? So, if you don't already own those, you can get them for $30 here. If, like me, you do already own them, then the $30 extra for the box is not getting you much... printed manual, stickers, Zero-G loops, Cycling 74 loops. <--think those loops are really worth $30? i'm thinking not.

Hi, Dave. The upgrade does not include EIC2 or SEssion Drums. Form what I can see. why? Because if you are upgrading then you already have it from your previous distribution of Live 7 if you bought those add-ons then. From my install experience last week, the Live 8 upgrade package *does* make minor upgrades to most of the components but doesn't include the full distribution.
