8.0.4 - OSX - Fullscreen on Second Monitor - Dock invisible

Post by crustrock » Mon Apr 06, 2009 5:22 pm

Hi!

I already posted this issue during beta testing and was very satisfied to see it was marked as done.
But today I just installed 8.0.1 and had to see that Live is not usable in my common setup.

On my MacBook Pro I am using Live in Fullscreen Mode on my external Monitor. On the primary display which is the build in TFT of the notebook I have the dock and the window titlebar visible for all applications but not for Live as long it has the focus.
Now I am not able to go to change Lives settings or something else in the titlebar.

Ergo: Live 8.0.1 in fullscreen on external monitor is not usable for me.
So I have to wait a while since I can do my upgrade from Live 7.

Yours

Short update: more serious addendum to my initial post: now I can't quit Live. Neither "end application" from context menu in dock not command-q works. The welcome screen which has the buttons "Demo starten" and "Life beenden" also can't be closed.

Am I the only unlucky one?

8.0.4 has the same behaviour ..

Post by crustrock » Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:40 pm

it's me and my problem again.
live on secondary display in fullscreen mode
-> no title bar and no dock on primary display
-> switch focus to other app with cmd-tab: menubar and dock are there
-> focus to live: both dissapear again

even with the newest demo of live 8.0.4 i can't use live in fullscreen on second display in the
same manner as 7.

am i the only using live (7 and 6 before) with this setup?
maybe it's not a bug in 8 but was a bug in 7?
maybe nobody understands me? :(

my idea is that making menubar and dock invisible in live fullscreen mode would make sense
if live fullscreen mode is used on the display where dock and menu resides ..

just curious

No, you aren't. I am using Live 8.0.8 with both monitors and never had any problems with the dock. Mac OS X 10.5.8 here.

You can get tied up with this sometimes if you don't re set the size in the view settings via right click on a mouse, where Live is runing but also displayed in your programes bar at the bottom of the screen.

This is in (Win XP)on PC however.

What I mean in short is - you have to synchronise your views between icons and program settings etc.

I'm sure one of these configurations will work, but then again,

Hope it does thouugh
