Live has a limit on the number of parameters you can control?

Post by sweetjesus » Tue Jan 11, 2005 10:52 pm

ive been trying to modulate parameters on a softsynth called Discovery (great replacement for my nord rack).

this softsynth has 4 sounds (multi timberal) and in the clip envelopes I can modulate the parameters of the first two sounds, but there are no parameters for the other voices... is this a limitation of live as in how many parameters it can list in the clip envelopes section (the list of parameters for the first two voices is HUGE as it is) or is it the VSTi that is not allowing the parameters to be controlled?

Goddamn I just wanna tweak the filter on voice C!!

yeah, I guess there are only(?) 128 modulatable parameters available. It's a shame though, since a whole bunch of the new, complex synths have loads more automatable destinations.

that's pretty retarded (oh my god i never thought i'd say that about live) they should at least let you choose what parameters u wish to have in that list!

I WANNA TWEAK THAT FILTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this may not help now, or ever, but perhaps try writing to the plugins support. maybe they can implement something in the future. ohmforce plugins let you re-order the list of parameters that show up in live(or other software) with a text editor. this lets you put the 128 you want at the top of the list out of the over 1,000 they have in symptohm and quadfrohmage.
