Plugins that don't work so well in 8...

Post by myxomat0515 » Tue Apr 07, 2009 10:19 pm

Out of curiousity... who is having problems with plugs in Live 8? And which ones?

My only issues so far:

Battery 3 - I used to have a few crashes here and there (w/Live 6-7) trying to load patches on the fly and whatnot. Seems to be intensified a bit in 8. Nothing I can't work around, but it sure sucks when you've spent a few minutes building a custom kit only to have a crash and then Live recovers the midi clip, but Battery doesn't recover the kit.

Ohmicide - Super glitchy on my machine all of a sudden. Really sucks cuz I use it a lot.

+1 for Ohmicide not working well in 8....it takes forever to change settings on the 8 beta and demo.

I haven't run into any others yet.

reFX Nexus instantly crashes on Launch. But, I'm not sure if the beta corrupted the plugin. I reported it a couple of times. :(

Can't be bothered to re-install, though. Running short on HD.

NI Massive and Pro5, both VSTi and AU on MBPro OSX 10.5 (latest versions ... haven't tried other NI instruments yet). When I resample on a seperate audio track, the audio level is very quiet and recording is off by about 1 measure. Tried with other instruments incl. Hypersonic and Korg Legacy with no issues.
By, the way, I've never had these problems with previous versions of Live.

Albino 3...It seems to stay stuck on the first bank of presets "Ambient Layered"...When I try to select any another banks of sounds, it pauses & then jumps back to the "Ambient Layered" bank! WtF?!? Friggin' pain in the arse I say. Anybody else running Albino 3 who can test & maybe concur??

Albino 3, ALL of Komplete 5 intstruments, kore 2, Sylenth 1, Hypersonic 2, arturia products and others work in Live 8.

I am running an edirol ua-25 interface with 64 bit drivers on vista 64 bit sp 1. Make sure you have the latest updates. What's key is having the right interface I think.

ditto on the ohmicide lag. I'm using 8.01 and having some noticeable delay when trying to select the little red 'snap' buttons in a user preset. hopefully the ohm guys will release a patch or something?

Stylus RMX 1.8 but it's hard to tell whether it's Live or RMX because they are both new updates. :?

Hate to tell you guys (Actually no I don't ), but Massive, ohmicide and all the rest work perfectly normal here (macbook pro 10.5.6)

For what it's worth, I reset my template and trashed preferences when I changed to 8.

Hi...same here...Battery 3: several crashes here and Albino 3. Additionally I had some strange crashes with Speakerphone 1.11. No problems with 7.014...
