Editing the sample parameters of a selection of audioclips

Post by djod » Tue Jan 11, 2005 1:39 am

Hello Abletonions

I would like to be able to edit the clip parameters like volume, transpose, detune, warp, warp mode, etc. of a selection of multiple clips.
This would be very nice when your making a live set from different songs, where one or two songs aren't as loud as the others.

Without this feature you have to either re-premaster your song, or change the parameters of all the individual clips with the same amount.
Both options aren't effecient and I guess they could be made unnesasery
by making it posible to edit the parameters of multiple clips at ones.

To make this feature even beter, you could make it so that the volume, transpose and detune parameters are changed relatively to the value that the selected clips have. Then you could do this over more then one track and it would leave deferences in value's of the individual tracks intact.

It would also make it posible to easely correct mixes when a song reacts different to a eq/multiband compressor/limter setting on the mix bus that work perfect for the other tracks in a live set.

It would also be very nice for when you have a song in the arranger view and it consist of a lot of unwarped or unloped clips. You would be able to select them all and warp and loop them, so you can drag the lot to the scene view to prepare it for a live set.

In other words it would make live a lot easer.

Agreed!

Im a new user and i searched the manual and tried everything to edit multiple clips as i couldnt believe that is was not possible.

It just seems so natural to be able to do that.
