Novation Nocturn doesn't record autmation moves into L8

Anyone else have this? Something to do with the way Live handles VST paramters probably...

I gave up on the stupid Automap and Nocturn. The freakin' thing is still dumb as hell and requires hours of setup to use it on anything. Is it too much to ask for Novation to do this for us as a gesture for using their product? Can anybody tell me how to keep the blasted "server" thing from running every time I use Live?

hey dj synchro,
just tried it out in live 8,works fine here using Automap pro .automation shows up as always.....
btw,i'm on Mac.

to Anubis:
the automap sever needs to be up and running,whether you use it with the midi client or automap.
i understand your frustration regarding Novation controllers,but dig a little deeper and it will really pay off.
i own a novation remote sl 37 AND nocturn using automap pro,i like them very much.

but hey,different tools for different people.

I'm noticing the same thing. I dont think its a novation problem though because it worked fine in v 7. It appears that even though the novation controller is controlling the vst parameters, Live doesn't recognize the changes unless it is being routed through the live parameter section, controller surfaces, or being controlled by a mouse. Ableton overlooked the possibility that outside software not tied into its midi or GUI would be controlling the parameters and therefore doesn't recognize it when you alter parameters using automap server.

This is going in the bug reports ASAP

Anyone successfully able to record automation for a Automap 3 Client VST instrument into Live 7 or 8 ???

Doesn't work in Live 8 here either. Works fine in Live 7 so must be an L8 bug.

There's also a bug in Automap server when you're using Automap MIDI, the max and min values for the buttons don't get saved. Novation told me this was fixed and that the update with the fix will be released within a week. I'm on Live 7.

Does recording midi CCs in arrangement still not work? I'm using the Automap MIDI port to record midi controller movements into Live, but it is not possible. No problem recording other controllers. Automap Midi port is enabled as track and remote input in Live's preferences. I deleted all manual midi remote assignments in Live to be sure that it is possible to record the midi controller.

Automap 3.1.b5, Live 8.0.4

works for me.

Didn't work in live 8.0.1
Works now, using both live 8 updates and automap server 3 updates.

Dont forget to configure your plugins, otherwise there wont be anything TO record. You can configure them from the nocturn by hitting the live configure button and then moving parameters on the nocturn.

In this case I don't want to control plug-ins, I only want to record some midi control movements into Live and send them from Live to VDMX, a VJ program.
