If you compose to video on one monitor, open up the Info View by pressing "?" and drop your video over that space.

how to get earlier versions of live not in the 'latest versions' section:

if you right click on the link and copy/paste it into the browser and change just the revision number in all places it should work

so in other words, click through the 'latest versions' section http://www.ableton.com/latest_versions for the relevant version until you get here:

Installation Instructions

The downloaded zip-file contains a file: Setup.exe. Please double-click this file to install Live.

then right click on this "link" [shown above bold and underlined]

should be something like:

replace 7014 (etc) both times it shows

Someone (other than me) should re-condense this thread, maybe starting with Live 7 hints and then putting 6, 5, and so on. I've never made it more than a couple of pages into this 16 page thread and I've got a feeling I'm missing a few nice tips that are tucked away.

Its due for a big overhaul, that is for sure. Some articles will need to be linked from the Web Archive since they may have vanished. At the moment I'm far too busy to do this overhaul any justice, I'll do some cleaning over the spring. This thread has been a pet project for years. That 100th edit will be a freaking anniversary
