can we get serious here?
look, i was led to this site by someone who said that LIVE is the way to go.
and the support by other owners in this forum are very helpful and friendly.
now, let's live up to his words and make what he said 'TRUE'.

What he said IS true. We don't have to prove it to you to make it so.cperezzz wrote:can we get serious here?

Re: name one professional
Also taking this thread slightly seriously for once...
How many professional "anythings" only use one brand and/or company for their art/profession?
Is it the mark of a 'true pro' to only use one product?
I think this whole thread is a simple-
"So you make music do you? What do you use?" Pub/bar conversation.>
I know ppl that swear by cubase / pro-T and get very "protective/up they're arses" when you say you make tunes with live.
I'm kind of glad I'm an unknown music maker with no professional past and dont have the shackles of a boy band to wear.
That being said I actualy think that cperezzz has some 'grande toro cajones' with his tranparency in this thread and wish him all the best with his musical efforts.
Don't let the 'fun' put you off, this is the place to be for ideas and help.
Your initiation into the live forum was indeed awesome and you should be extremely proud.
Have a great easter break (if your having one) ppl.

Re: name one professional
so far this thread has been helpful.
A lot of people have said the right thing: it DOESN'T MATTER what anybody else uses.
Do your thing bro, just do your thing. If you are trying to establish what your thing IS, i would def recomend Live to create in. Its fun, fast, intuitive. If you're as big time as you are, then you'll pay somebody good for mixing and mastering, and there you're paying for their experience and expertise, NOT the program they use.
I can open up a WAV in ProTools with the BEST plugs and make it sound shit, just like anyone can pick up my guitar and make it sound bad.
If you ALL you want to know is "who uses this" that pretty much has been answered. not exactly what you want to hear but it's been answered. good luck to ya

The piece of gear/software/instrument that you are able to get results that you like and want out of it is the one that is the most pro.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
Re: name one professional
I do for all my electronic stuff actually!
Occasionally I switch to Adobe Audition to master, etc. when I'm not using Waves in Ableton.
I use Audition for recording but more and more I'm moving toward Ableton. I actually love Ableton and Audition, it's an amazing combination. I'm not great but I've used Cubase, Protools, Acid, and more and come to this.

Re: name one professional
Live is a tool for making music. It is possible to make great music with all kinds of different tools, but Live is a particularly "ergonomic" one.
To worry about whether "its what the pros use" is to miss the point of electronic music ENTIRELY.
Burial is pretty good - he uses SoundForge. Bogdan Raczynski knows a thing or two and he started out on tracker programs. Shitmat uses AudioMulch. Atomic Hooligan use Logic.
Lets get this straight - hoarding software has very little to do with making music. Every software manufacturer has a brand to promote, an identity to create, an image, a marketing brief.
If you find yourself worrying about whether you're using the "right" software, you are a victim of advertising.
If you feel that you can't possibly carry on creating music unless you buy the latest, shiniest piece of software, you're barking up the wrong tree.
