Mrs. Neb Finally HOME After a Life-Threatening Infection
Re: Mrs. Neb in the hospital with a life-threatening infection
update: She is in emergency surgery to try to find the source of the bacteria. This is a high-risk operation. Guys, this is the real deal. She may not come out of this. I am numb/afraid/I-don't-know-what. We were hanging out on Tuesday morning, having a normal breakfast. WTF?!?!
Re: Mrs. Neb in the hospital with a life-threatening infection
Hang in there Neb, and no matter how low your spirits are or how unsure you may be -- always remember to give thanks. It's a really hard thing to do in times of turmoil, but that is exactly what makes it such a powerful prayer, just to say thank you - no matter what.
Some years ago a very close friend of mine was in the hospital in critical condition. It was a very trying and emotional time for everyone involved. Somewhere in my grief and anxiety it occurred to me to just say that simple prayer - "thank you god" - I don;t know where it came from, didn't know why I was saying it, and certainly didn't know what in the hell I was saying thanks for.....
But somehow, for some reason, it brought me a great level of comfort, and I never forget that simple prayer.
Keep us posted, and Jennifer and I are both sending out prayers and positive energy your way.

Shit man, hang in there. Simon needs you. I know, no matter what happens next, you will handle it.
Be strong. Good thoughts for your family, from mine.

Neb, I noticed this thread not so long ago, and now when I see you posting an update, I always hope it's the post where you say everything's better now.
Like someone else said before there somewhere: you don't know me, but after hanging around here for years - even though I have mostly been silent (588 posts, huh?) - I feel like I know you, in a weird sort of forum way of course. I really, really hope everything turns out for the best. You've got a lot of folks sending you positive thoughts and genuine support over here. Hang in there.

I don't think we've ever exchanged messages, but I am moved by your plight.
I am hoping for a good outcome for you and yours.

whoa. we're still here man.
they're taking the bull by the horns, get in there, get active, solve it once and for all.
my dad ruptured his appendix but it wrapped around the intestine which made it pretty painless, until a week later, THEN he went to the hospital with paratenitus (infection of the body cavity.) they sewed it up, cleaned up his body cavity, gave him anti-biotics, all was well.
MW that was a funny 'tube.

I just saw this, oh MR. Neb, I am so sorry. I would be so scared.
May God be with you and your family with every breath each of you takes. You are such a positive part of this forum's experience. Because you have so often made us smile, I know MANY of us are heartbroken at the thought of you suffering.
Blessings,
Jeff

Update: She's out of surgery. No nasty flesh-eating bacteria found. She is stable and sedated. We can sleep well tonight. Let's see what challenges arise tomorrow. Thanks again for all your prayers and support...so far it's working...will post tomorrow with new updates. People are starting to fly in for support...her father, brother are all here. This could go on a while. Thanks for the support and for letting me bleed my heart out on the forum. *hugs*

that's good to hear... following this thread, my heart has been in my mouth all afternoon...
Re: Mrs. Neb in the hospital with a life-threatening infection
Hey, I just noticed this thread... it is very touching, man. I am usually a fairly quiet forum browser, but when I see something like this, I have to say something!
I really hope it all works out for you Nebs. It can't be easy to go through something like this, that's for sure. But since you have to hang on the edge of insanity here, make it your truest look inside you. Look inside for all that love, and send it to her. Focus, focus on sending her your power. We will all do the same. This separates the men from the boys, and I know your a man, I just know.
We are ALL rooting for you guys, even us quiet ones!!!
Pull through Mr. and Mrs.Neb!!!
Stay strong buddy,
James

Re: Mrs. Neb in the hospital with a life-threatening infection
When I was growing up my friend's mom was a mystic. She told us that when someone was in the hospital and you want to help them with your thoughts, what she did was to picture green beams of healing light going into their body.
The way she came up with this is from an occasion a loved one was seriously Ill in the hospital. The machine the patient was hooked up to had indicators on it... When the red lights would go on the patient would be worsening, and when the green lights would go on it meant the patient was getting better. So she just envisioned the green beams going into the patient as much as she could. The person eventually made a full recovery.
I'm in Deleware visiting family, so Nebby you should know that you have some strong beams of healing green light arching their way over to Texas.
Anyone can do this. Give it a try.
