ableton live and m-audio midi controller assigning buttons..

Post by cperezzz » Mon Apr 13, 2009 4:29 am

i have ableton live 8 demo and a M-Audio O2 midi controller and WINDOWS VISTA 64 HOME. now, i assign record, play, fwd, rwd, etc. to the knobs and buttons on my O2, but, i have to assign them everytime i close live and open it up at a later time. M-AUDIO does not have a driver for vista 64 O2, they say windows will find a driver for it. so, does anyone know a 'workaround' on how to save these settings so i don't have to go through the same routine everytime?

thanks in advanced

you might want to open a NEW TOPIC to find your answer. right now this topic is about an issue i have with LIVE and my O2 controller.

As I recall, you can't save in demo mode, that concerns also midimaps.

yes, you can not save in demo mode, but they have a trial period you can take advantage of that allows saving.

make your midi mappings, save the set, then go into "preferences" and make that set your "default" template. That way whenever you open a set it'll be done.

ok, thanks for the info. good to hear it's possible to save a template for my mapping.

yep.

wiser to create a little folder of templates for different things and train yourself to launch live from there. of course, you midi mappings could or would be the same throughout
