I'm a brand new user, so this is all new to me. I purchased and installed the Live 8 Suite for Mac. Under preferences/authorizations I see that I've installed Latin Percussion. But after searching within the program, I can't find anything called "Latin Percussion" instruments, grooves, etc. How do I access the sounds and the patterns?
Thanks!
Live 8: Where is Latin Percussion???
Re: Live 8: Where is Latin Percussion???
talking a little bit out of my ass here...
but to this point the Live browser has not been set up to group particular packs as such.
there should be a browser column in Live8 for which pack a sound/preset is from. if that column is not visible, try a right click at the top of the browser.
now look in drum racks or instrument racks, for presets which are from latin perc...

Hello,
Make sure that Latin Percussion is listed as authorized in the Live Preferences/User Account - Licenses.

Re: Live 8: Where is Latin Percussion???
Hi, just installed an upgrade from Live Suite 7 to Live 8 - same problem, no Latin Percussion.
Authorisation is given in preferences, but no Live Pack called "Latin Percussion" is listed as installed (if Latin Percussion is a "Live Pack"?) and nothing seems to show up in the Library.
The initial Help window to the right has links to Latin Percussion content - "Kits" does nothing and "Clips" gives an error message saying:
"Failed to resolve the link to BrowseLibraryFiles:/Clips/Latin Percussion"
Was Latin Percussion included with the installer for Live 8.0.1, or do I need to download it separately?
Hope that helps,
Kogun.
PS I just looked at the Default Packages folder (Live 8.0.1/Resources/DefaultPackages) and "LatinPercussion_v8.1_Update.alp" is present, I then tried to install it and another message says:
"The installation could not be completed.
Latin Percussion: Live Pack is an upgrade pack that can only be installed on top of an older version of the same pack."
PPS I'm on a Windows laptop running Vista Home Premium SP1.

Re: Live 8: Where is Latin Percussion???
Hi,
if you are a Suite user, please download the "Suite 8" from http://www.ableton.com/latest_versions. This version contains all Sounds for Suite, including Latin Percussion, Drum Machines and Sound Objects Lite.
If you are a Live User and have purchased Latin Percussion, then you can download Latin Percussion separately from http://www.ableton.com/livepacks
The Latin Percussion presets are located under Drum Rack.
Best,
Daniel
