'Duplicate' command for Drum Rack pads

Post by siliconarc » Thu Apr 16, 2009 4:53 pm

to duplicate a pad currently, you have to alt-click-drag each pad to the adjacent pad, which is fiddly and annoying doing it 15 times :evil:

and duplicating from the chain list view creates a 'Multi' pad, which in my experience is kind of useless;
i see how it works the same way as duplicating a zone in an instrument rack does, but an instrument rack's zone is easy to nudge up one, drumracks aren't. surely if you want a multi pad, drop an instrument rack on it!?

anyway..... i'd love to be able to select a pad, hit cmd-D, and have it duplicated to the adjacent pad (so it copies to the right, and then upwards to the next row), but i can also see possible problems of duplicating a pad over onto an existing used pad. maybe a pop-up warning box here? "replace current pad Y/N?" or something. maybe the chain list view duplication method could work in the adjacent way, rather than the 'multi' way?

have i just talked my way out of my own feature wish?
thoughts?

ta!

How about clicking on the pads save icon, save it in to the browser as something you can recognize (i usually use my initials as a prefix) then you can call it up in to a new track.

After this you can delete the one you just saved in your browser to save clutter if you so choose.

Hope this has help and hope i understood what you originally meant :lol:
