Hi,
I downloaded the demo of Ableton 4 and ran the set up program but when I try to run the program my computer grinds to a halt. This happens at the point when it creates a new set.
It goes so slow I can't even move the mouse!
Both times I've tried I've had to turn off the computer using the power button.
Anyone know what might cause this or what I could do about it? I've tried it out on a friend's machine and am very keen on getting it, but if the demo won't work I guess the full version wont...
I'm using windows XP pro and I think I've installed all the updates.
Ableton Live 4 Demo Freezes my machine!
Hello achadwick,
I can look into this if you mail me the Live "Log.txt". You´ll find this text here:
Windows (Live 4): (C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4\Preferences
mail it to [email protected]
Best,
Ch Kleine

I don't know why, but that folder doesn't exist on my machine. I also searched my hard drive for ableton and for log.txt but couldn't find it.kleine wrote:Hello achadwick,

Could this be caused by my soundcard? I'm not sure what my soundcard is (it may be SiS 7012 - if that is a soundcard!), but Ableton 2 worked, as do frootyloops and ACiD 4.
I have a 1.8Ghz processor and 512Mb of Ram.
