all emi2|6 outputs not showing as available

Heya, new to the forum so apologies if this one's been addressed somewhere in a faq, but i couldn't find it...

I have an emi2|6 and am using a g4 ibook running OSX10.3.7. and Live4.0.4 Not all of my outputs on the interface are showing as available for use when I am in Live. It says the device only has 2 outputs, though I know it has six.

A very lo-fi workaround to this is for me to launch nuendo, open it's connections and add the outputs. Then if I quit Nuendo and go back to Live, all the outputs show up for use.

I'd like not to have to fire up Nuendo everytime I want to fix this problem, so I am wondering if anyone knows what's going on and how to solve it?
