SO where is the Update to fix all of these Bugs?
SO where is the Update to fix all of these Bugs?
During the beta testing we were having daily builds and fixes..
And now nothing with buggy final release..
Seems like Ableton intended to release Live 8 before it was ready knowing that the software was buggy!!!
TO me this has me wondering why has Ableton has become a dishonest software manufacture...
SO ABLETON WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET THE FIXES FOR ALL THE BUGS PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THE FINAL RELEASE!!!!!

yeah.. i don't echo all the above sentiments
but seeing beta builds released every other day kinda makes me wonder where the heck the bugfix is?
seems there's plenty of people having issues and no real end in sight or idea when this stuff can be fixed.

Re: SO where is the Update to fix all of these Bugs?
Yes, you are right. Since release of Live 8 and my demo try outs I check this board nearly every day but there seem's to be no patch releases yet... I know they can't fix all stuff in once (sometimes those bugs are too special or it's complicated to find the reason for) but regular updates would raise the overall mood anyway.
Some of those bugs are not (directly) related to the new features of version 8 so I wonder why so many different parts are broken...

I imagine that there was a rush to get things out for Musikmesse on Apr 1.
Frankly, I'd rather there be more time spent to get things right - with a few sporadic updates instead of a daily barrage.

I started a thread a while back where these above points were raised and concluded by people both for and against the general gist of the thread.arachnaut wrote:I imagine that there was a rush to get things out for Musikmesse on Apr 1.

My suggestion was for Ableton to make some official statement in regards to what their bugfix plans were. However, there was quite a lot of people who, no matter how clearly I stated things, decided my words meant something else and took great joy in shooting me down.
And here we are, a fortnight or so later and people are obviously still unhappy with the software, more because Ableton are keeping users in the dark as to what their official remedy plans are, and not because people think they have been abandoned altogether.
All it would take is a few choice sentences informing us of their intentions, a rough guide as to when updates can be expected and threads like this wouldn't be happening.
In my eyes, this is the the least and most respectful approach that Ableton and their support team could take to pacify anyone who has paid for software that they knew was significantly flawed, yet, it's also the angle they are most avoiding.
I suppose it's mostly down to not wanting to say that the release of 8 was premature but saying as little as they have on the subject has done their reputation more damage than any admittance of a rushed release.
Don't get me wrong, I think they are doing a sterling job trying to sort out problems posted in the forums but we all know that it's going to be a very slow road just to reach the stability it should have had on its release, let alone the relatively trouble free nature Live 7 has afforded their reputation.
It's a shame that a software company such as this didn't allow more beta testing time, or indeed, had the balls to delay its official release for the benefit of happy consumers.
It wouldn't surprise me should memories of this update come back and bite them hard in the buttocks when they prepare us for Live 9. There's only so much the paying public will put up with if they want to keep their reputation. No matter how good the tools they code are! Another release as unstable as this one appears to be and my interest will wander elsewhere.
I will eventually be upgrading to 8 but no way are they having my money yet. I'd rather all the diehards had the problems and frustrations, i'll just keep my eyes on the forum until I hear the right good words uttered.

Even Native Instruments have that in the Traktor forum.
You know what I mean....?
NATIVE INSTRUMENTS !
I am still wondering why nearly everybody has upgraded to 8 the
moment it came out. Why did nearly nobody try the demo before ?
I hear "when do you fix my broken software ?" all the time instead
of "when do you release a version that I can buy because it works ?"....
Re: SO where is the Update to fix all of these Bugs?
+1 for update info
Re: SO where is the Update to fix all of these Bugs?
an official statement on a bugfix release would be really really really nice of ableton
even acknowledging some of these issues would be a nice step forward.. seems like a lot of people might be waiting for some kind of answer from the abes (well over 300 views of this thread)

they've actually just released a beta update 8.02 and it looks like they've been very busy.
i will be keeping an eye on users opinions as to how this release has stabilised their systems.
somehow, i still think they are a few updates away from general stability, which should have been their aim for its official release.
prolonged beta testing as opposed to premature releases please Ableton

Funny I just read a story on crackberry.com:
"After much anticipation, Facebook 1.5 was officially released earlier this week which led to a whack load of blog comments and CrackBerry forum posts and lots of initial feedback from the user community. Reading through, it became apparent that a few little bugs were present. RIM must be paying attention, as we received some intel today letting us know that users should check later tonight for an updated release that addresses some issues..."

i'm not entirely sure either but you may well be right.Coupe70 wrote:i didn't find any bugfixes that seem to relate to the

obviously some of the bigger issues will take some time to fix. this is what beta testing is for, not the official release. hence my call for Ableton to shed some official light.
it's great that they're working hard on bugs but to be carrying on with major fixes after its release without any clarity is reprehensible.
