the chapter about the library (page 54) is outdated. the Library tab in Live8 preferences went through some changes which not represented in the manual...
besides, i love the manual :)

The manual alone was totally worth the price of the Suite. 8O
+2 It's funny, I was start the same topic before---I love the bounded manual over the last concept...Damned if my Live 7 manual wasn't all fuct up from it ripping from the plastic binders...

A Kinkos that's on my way to work. They formatted it to fit on long legal stock, so the overall size is 8" x 7". I sent them the file and picked it up on my way home. The "real" manual is probably larger and printed on nicer paper, but this was quick and done.

I love the new manual too. Better binding; that fresh book smell.

In a year it will be mangled cause I carry it everywhere.

It's worth forcing yourself through the startup tuts too.

As an up-grader from Live 7 to Live 8 Suite, I am blown away by the new instruments and sounds. 8O

It's a smart move to print and bind the pdf for those who didn't get the black book. Nothing replaces reading about Live while taking a dump. "Why are you still in the bathroom?!" "Hold on, just one more chapter."

normally it's the forum or sound on sound or maxim (whatever, free subscription), but lately it's been the manual. sooooo much more easy to read then the pdf, i've never finished reading the pdf from front to back, i'll prolly read the printed one two or three times... drunken jazz bands  most manuals suxor big tyme, ableton ftw!!!

Probably true.
Getting the .pdf printed and spiral bound cost me $30 USD.
The copyroom at work did this for me for free.

Nice work copy room muso kids!

The pdf I downloaded (I do not have Live 8 yet), is not searchable in Preview on OS X.

This happened to me - drove me crazy till I narrowed it down to this one document. I'll d/l the manual again and see... it

Well, as soon as I save it to the location that will cause it to open from Live, it stops being searchable. This is barking madness...
