We are currently listening to a mix of Coldplay, Travis, Smiths, Phoenix, Shiny Toy Guns, and of course his current favorite song, "Eye of the Tiger" (don't ask!)."Dad, this music is pretty cool. It's like these invisible notes come out of the speaker and get in your brain, and then you think about it all day long."

Re: Neb Jr.'s Epiphany
Never thought I would say this but I would gladly swap your Eye of the tiger for the stuff my kid insists on listening to in the car
Currently its 'the wheels on the bus', 'head shoulders knees and toes', 'ten little ducks' plus others of which burn their way into your skull and hinder my ability to think of anything else for 24hours
Im waiting for the day I start creating a nice deep house track and my mrs walks in asking why im recreating a house version of 'if your happy and you know it clap your hands'....LOL

^^ as for the kiddie music, don't worry, that'll pass...but then it's up to you to subtly push the good stuff. Don't get me wrong, I still have to sit through Kelly Clarkson crap, but so far, he's tuning into the way better stuff that I play every morning on the ride to school.

haha, not exactly...I let Simon take care of himself.LoopStationZebra wrote:neb, are you one of those parents that starts screaming at the coaches and stuff? Getting into fist fights with other parents and such? lol.
But I've seen those freak-parents on the field, and they are annoying as fuck.

^ can't force the good stuff on him...just alternate and let his brain learn the difference between bubblegum and fine cuisine.

Listening to Beethoven, a friend's six year old said, "It turns up the volume in my heart."
Re: Neb Jr.'s Epiphany
I had a friend in Australia whose six year old would put axis bold as love on the turntables.
If it wasn't on the floor, or by the stereo, she would look for it in the shelves amongst the other
two or three hundred other records.
I think i'm gonna buy my niece an iPod this Christmas and fill up full of cool stuff.

Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

+100
My aunt used to send me loads of wicked music, got me into Nirvana way before they were big _ she scored me nevermind before it was released and said you have gotta check this shit, it'll blow your mind. . .
Having a cool older relative whos into music and turns you onto stuff is amazing. .
I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

my 5 year old's favorite piece of music at the moment is half-shark-alligator-half-man from Dr. Octagon ... I like to think it is the beats he likes, but the 'half-shark-alligator-half-man' chorus has obvious appeal to a 5 year old
