EQ 3 problems

Post by amon2385 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:52 am

is there anyway to dedicate the EQ 3 switches to just the 'A' 'B' part of ableton instead of having to put one in every audio rack. im asking this because i have like 6 audio racks full of songs, and i want to just have two EQ 3's....one to control just the A part and the other to control the B part. it wouldnt make sense to have six EQ 3 and like 18 knobs on my midi controller to control everything just for two outputs. i hope this makes sense.

thanks!

If I'm understanding correctly, you have 3 tracks assigned to A on the crossfader and 3 assigned to B

You can change the output of each track to 'Sends Only' (instead of Master) and route the 3 tracks assigned to A to Send A by turning the Send A rotary on each of these tracks to max. Repeat this process for the 3 tracks assigned to B by turning the Send B rotary to max. Put the EQ3 on the send tracks and assign Send A to A on the crossfader and Send B to B on the crossfader... voila

route everything on two return channels, make one of the return channels A, and the other one B. Drop the eq3s on the two return channels. done.

That's a much better explanation than my rambling answer :)
