Akai APC40 Ableton USB Controller Will not Ship to CANADA???

So i tried a pre-order over at musiciansfriend.com to get the Akai APC40 but it says International Restrictions apply and the product is marked with a red X when its in my shopping cart. "Item(s) are not permitted to ship to your selected address"

Also on the Akai site it only offers a selection of US or UK?

is anyone else in the same boat as me? anyone have any idea if it will be avaiable shortely to us canadians?

They're still a long way off anyways. June I think. Better to order from a canadian store when it comes out like Long & McQuade or Steve's Music.

or Tom Lee Music in Vancouver, almost all of my music purchases are from there as they have some unbelievable deals from time to time, although Long and McQuade is right on my doorstep (sometimes good Boxing Day sales, otherwise expensive, ditto Steve's). For small parcel items, at least.

You have to pay duty for items shipped from the states anyway.

I wouldn't believe that if I were you. Many U.S. places have changed the expected date to June. And since we Canada do not have any secret trade deals going on with either the ableton or akai folk, I'm pretty sure we'll be getting at the same time or after our American neighbors.

I pre ordered my APC through Sweetwater about a month ago. My Sales guy called me yesterday and said they have them in and they will ship out more than likely the 29th hopefully since the 30th is on a Saturday. He hopes at least that they will ship out Friday if not he said they have FedEx trucks on site Saturdays so who knows. I just know I should have mine the 1st week of June on my doorstep ready to fire up...
