DJ Jazzy Jeff, an Ableton Live user.
I just saw the video on this page http://www.ableton.com/live , and noticed Jazzy Jeff in the video. I would love to see the rest of that video of Jeff, and hear what he's doing with Live.
For all of you who don't know who Jeff is:

We'll have a full movie and interview soon. He's an inspiring dude, and his beats are as incredible as his DJing.
Here's some free remixes he just did in Live and put up on King Britt's website (another Live user):

The funny thing is, a lot of people outside of Philly thought that was all there was to Jeff. They thought he was just a sidekick to Will from the tv show, and the "popcorn" music videos.
Jeff is a kick ass DJ and producer. I still think him and DJ Cash Money are the two baddest Hip Hop DJ's on the planet, and both are from Philly!!!!

His solo album on BBE a few years ago was stellar, launched the careers of a lot of new Philly cats too (Cy Young, Kev Brown, etc).
Re: DJ Jazzy Jeff, an Ableton Live user.
I was in a Denver-area guitar center around 2002, having just recently picked up Live 1.5 for myself. I was there looking at Native Instruments stuff, when a well-dressed black gentleman came in with some of his friends. I didn't recognize him, but he looked like a professional of some sort. I saw him looking at Final Scratch and talking about playing in town that week, and I suggested that he consider Ableton Live too. I said, if you feel like doing something more than just DJing, Live is where it's at. I told him you could not only play your tracks, but remix them too, add effects, mess with loops, sing over it, all live. He seemed pretty interested and we chatted for a couple of minutes about it. I went back to the guitar room where my buddy was looking at strings, and he asked me if I knew who I was talking to. I said I didn't, and he informed me that it was DJ Jazzy Jeff! I'm pretty sure he bought Live that day because of that random chat!

I was one of those people until I saw him perform at a big hip hop/dance event called Freestyle Sessions here in LA a few years back, and HOLY FUCK that man can ROCK a show! Dude is a serious contender. His production and dj abilities are pretty tough to beat, and the fact that he still rocks it with mad soul and underground flavor this long into the game is astounding.kb420 wrote:doc holiday wrote:kb420 just don't understand
