BCR Performer 1.6
Re: BCR Performer 1.2 released
Re: BCR Performer 1.2 released
thanks, i just watched it (as you can tell from the pic).
my problem, i believe is two things.
1) i don't have that preference window from in the video, which makes it so i can't dump to the BCR.
2) in the max window is says there are files not found, are these the files for the preference window?

You're using an old version. Try this one: http://covops.org/uploads/BCR%20Perform ... 5%20b5.zip
I'll have everything on a nice download page with instructions soon. The 1.5 version was linked later in this thread.

Re: BCR Performer 1.2 released
my bad. it's working now, and i'm about to experiment with some mappings in a copy of my Live dj template. my question is, wouldn't this conflict with any controllers using instant mapping in live that i am also using in the set? say if one lonely knob on the bcr is shared with one used for instant mapping with a nocturn or an oxygen?

also, is it possible to get the two x eight buttons to stay the same for all the presets? it is my understanding it is impossible to change the values. preset 1 is on midi channel 1, preset 2 is on midi channel 2, and so on.

Re: BCR Performer 1.2 released
sorry to nag, but i am experiencing some weird midi latency with the software. if i move an encoder fast on the bcr, it slowly moves in abes. if i move the knob back and forth fast about 6 or 7 times, it sends all the data to live, but you watch it still moving seconds after finishing. have you experienced this? about the last post, i believe i can use midistroke to send the different midi data to the same keystrokes which are manual mapped inside live.

right. so im getting myself a bcf2k first, and a bcr later on, but i just wanted to say that, first off good work. and secondly, did i hear snapshots?
cmon, please please please do let me know when you have a snapshot application like you talked about on the first palce. this is the day that i will cry happy tears all day long.
oh, and no, i didnt read the whole thread :p

Essentially the BCR Performer application is a snapshot app, but with a specific purpose in this case.friend_kami wrote:right. so im getting myself a bcf2k first, and a bcr later on, but i just wanted to say that, first off good work. and secondly, did i hear snapshots?

I built the whole thing upon figuring out snapshots. Just haven't gotten around to doing an app purposefully for just loading a full snapshot of 16 midi channels of data.
We're down one Covert Operator at the moment which leaves me to take care of all the projects.
I'm currently finishing up a new website, because the current one is too buggy to keep up with all the needs of the users. For example, the new website will have an RSS feed for every section. As opposed to the buggy feed of the home page we got now.
We also got a new Live Pack coming up very soon. Can't divulge too much, but part of it is a project I've been wanting to do since Live 3!
As for the applications. The snapshot application isn't actually a huge technical challenge. It just slipped my mind because its filled with Max for Live ideas and clever plots to get my hands on an APC40.
I'll see when I can finish it.
The BCR Perfomer app will get a proper treatment when the new site and the new pack is up.
Anyway, although things seem slow at CovOps HQ. You can rest assured things are happening.

New version is up. Sorry about the long delay.
There's no new video as of yet, but you'll find that there is a lot more info on the site now.
I've removed the feature from 1.5 that uploads sysex to the BCR. There are plenty of dedicated applications for that, no need for to reinvent the wheel. Reinventing the BCR is a different subject.
The next application to look forward to is a Snapshot Collector. Its already built, I just need to hunt down a big bug and write some documentation for it. Basically its a tool to reset all the parameters on your Live Set.
I wouldn't use it to make Program Changes that update your whole set, but that kind of use is theoretically possible.

Re: BCR Performer 1.6
whooa... what's this? Will this app allow you to take snapshots of the state of your various device parameters and send the changes instantly without having to use clip automation? Like it actually sets the value of the parameter? That is what I am looking for big time. Currenlt I can only do this using Kore (on a track by track basis) with it's morph pad snapshots. But of course only for plug-ins.hoffman2k wrote:http://www.thecovertoperators.org/Max/M ... rformer-16

Is this going to be a BCR specific app as well?

No, its not connected to the BCR app.glitchrock-buddha wrote:whooa... what's this? It collects 16 channels of notes and CC's and allows you to store 16 (or more if desired) Snapshots.
Then you can send those to Live and/or your controller. (Live would in turn update the BCR performer when used in conjunction.)
In my case, I'd use it to reset all parameter changes I made. Because if during practicing my set I decide to add/remove stuff. I need to save it again.
And I'd rather not tweak every single parameter again. I want them to go to their initial state with one click.

Re: BCR Performer 1.6
this sounds interesting and very useful. In another thread (about sends), we were just discussing ways to instantly raise the send levels one many tracks at the same time as lowering the volumes, for example to use use a send effect as an insert for many tracks at once. Would your app be able to do this? Say you had three tracks and for one part of the song you wanted to hit a button that would raise the send levels to max for those three tracks for a given send, and pull the levels to 0. Is this the kind of "snapshot" you could set for the push of a button? Would a snapshot be able to be set for chosen parameters only in the Live set while leaving others alone in their current state? I'm getting excited.hoffman2k wrote:No, its not connected to the BCR app.glitchrock-buddha wrote:whooa... what's this? At the moment its designed to store and recall everything. But I suppose limiting the output shouldn't be that hard.glitchrock-buddha wrote: Would a snapshot be able to be set for chosen parameters only in the Live set while leaving others alone in their current state? I'm getting excited.
You can store snapshots with 16 different states for the sends, for example.
