One of the richest bands in world got hours of free advertising paid for by the British public when there are thousands of incredible artists in the UK who have little or no avenue to get their music heard by a wider audience.
What a poor discussion.mdk wrote:hello Salty.Salty P wrote:What a way to introduce myself

it's teh interweb, macho bullshit, hate everything and everyone. it's easy to hate on things, any dipshit can do it, this forum is proof. it's more difficult to defend the good things.leedsquietman wrote:Makes me laugh, all these people calling U2 old cunts, when a good proportion of these detractors ain't exactly drinking from the fountain of youth themselves .... and no I am not a U2 fan (I think they've written maybe 7 or 8 good tracks in 26 years and dozens of albums, most of it is mundane), but when people come on here singing the praises of ferking Deadrat and Tiesto, I would sit all day long listening to back to back U2 albums from War all the way up to their latest before I would listen to 2 measly tracks of theirs. Bono is a twat - do you actually know the dude personally to make that statement (nope). Even if his music is sh*t and he is a twat, he is personally responsible for many lives being saved and improved living conditions for thousands of impoverished people across the globe, while you probably walk on by and yell at homeless dudes to 'get a freakin' job'. Let's see the bigger picture here and this includes Eno - Eno is a talent, but Daniel Lanois is the best thing that happened to U2 - the fact he has not been involved much in the last 2 or 3 albums until this release, has really shown in the boredom factor. Lanois is a truly innovative and outstanding producer of our time and that goes for his work with Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, The Neville Brothers and Willie Nelson too, not just U2.
