I always read the manual from front to back when I first buy something.

Then when I'm suffering from another periodic bout of gear-lust, I read the old manuals again. It kinda gives me that "hey, this is new and cool" feeling and I always find something I'd missed or forgotten.

(Also, its a real ego-stroke to be told what a discerning and lucky punter I am to have purchased this app/synth/widget. You know, the opening paragraph.)

I chose the download version of the Live 4 upgrade, and that only comes with a .pdf manual.

And I was talking about .pdfs in general. Like Cubase's complete manual is only available in .pdf form. No printed manual at all, other than the "Getting Started" manual.

Yeah, but they're hard to read in the can, unless you take your laptop in there with you. :)
