can someone sell them on ebay without duty?

edit: oh I suppose that is illegal. rules are dumb. I do include commercial invoices when shipping things to Canada, for example. I don't know what the customer pays in import tax though.

The longer they've left it, the impulse buy in me has been watered down, and the rational part of the brain is kicking in... If i wasn't so weak i would probably sidestep altogether...I guess my point is, I'm now on the fence.

The idea of apc is perfect for Live.

But I don't want blind faders. Slight reorganization to replace the faders with 4 more tracks, or simply a smaller apc and I'm ready to buy.

Yeah, this suspense has the effect of chapagne opened too slowly.

And I am too happy with padKONTROL and EMX to think that KORG and firmware hackers couldn't do it much much better.

I think it'll be perfect. Sends are the one thing I've always had to assign manually and it makes really hard for big sets that change a lot where different songs get put in, or you rearrange the track order. So the instant mapping of sends as well as the 8 banks of device control (mixed with plug-in configuration), not to mention a clip matrix, which I've never had before, will be a lot of fun. Also being able to instantly go to any group of 8 tracks with the push of a button makes navigating so much better than customized setups imo. I had a remote SL for strictly mixer stuff, but sold it. The akai encoders are so much better. Best encoders I've ever used actually (same ones as on the mpd). Also the akai faders are much better than the SL ones. And with the Remote SL I also used to have to have something else for sends (bcr2000), as I said now the apc40 has sends that I don't have to assign.

Once it comes out, my setup will be the APC40 (Clp launch, levels, device control, sends) + Maschine (Drums) + Kore Controller (Return Track effects). Couldn't ask for a more immediate and effortless setup.

premature speculation. the thing isn't even out yet and people are dogging it. it's mostly maschine owners taking the piss, go figure.

Why do things with 1 controller when you can use 4!

You may change your mind when you try it. I had no interests since Faderfoxes and SL work great for me but then tried APC on the Messe and no question it is THE controller for Live. No need to read, ask anyone, anything- if you know Live you already know APC and I believe Ableton crew will be what JJ is to MPC (brains) so no worry about Akai.
everything else "can" be set for Live, APC "is" already set.
Few minutes of using and you realise that this is what you actually wanted from the day you got Live.

i think the apc should have a smaller footprint like that of the mpd32, I would say that that might make it less playable but it's not that kind of controller anyway so it's not for me, but I can see how the denis desantis type of user would love it.

I haven't seen the thing in person so I don't know the foot print, but if it fits in the Ableton bag as pictured it can't be all that big. But yeah, maybe it won't fit amongst the 5 other controllers you are using to emulate a APC. Tough decisions. Maybe ask a drummer how they feel about stage space.
