Problems with Akai MPD32 in Ableton 7

Post by nataliadata » Fri May 01, 2009 4:37 pm

Could someone kindly give me an advice please. I am using Akai MPD 32 controller for my live performance, but so far had so much trouble with set up and ready to give up.

I have Ableton LiveLite template selected, but also tried to set up a Generic one. I have been struggling with setting up basic operations like assigning the faders to MPD faders and assigning knobs to control tempo... The pads work, the knobs work on plug ins well though. When using the midi output to send the SYNC to another laptop I couldn't get any midi clock signal to reach the destination. The controller seems very unstable.

Could it be faulty?

I used Korg MicroKontrol previously and when hooked up I could simply choose the MicroKONTROL from the Control Surface menu in Preferences. There isn't MPD32 in control surfaces to select, however the all midi ins and outs show up in the in/out section. I downloaded the Vyzex, but there seems to be no drivers available, opening the editor didn't get any driver updates Maybe I don't know where to find them?

Help :(

What am I missing here? The assignment was pretty straight forward in Logic, but Ableton had been rather problematic.
