Noisia - Stigma - How to get this sound?

Anyone familiar with this tune?

Theres a bit where the synth slows right down (bang on 3 mins if anyone has it)

How is this done, it's not just a pitch glide down, it kind of breaks gradually up into particles

Any thoughts?

yeah i've got this tune

there's lot of synths that if you hit the lowest notes make this (similar) sound

its just a case of setting a high portomento and hitting and holding overlapping notes from high to low till it crackles
with effects like distortion bitcrush etc

stigmata is an amazing tune, the main synth sound is sick
