What is wrong with people knowing the songs a DJ is playing again? The fact that average people have not been able to purchase dance music easily b/c it was only released on vinyl and was such a niche knowledge base has hurt dance music's popularity in the states big time.

I assume most people on this board make dance music... would you not be pumped if RH played your track and you sold 200 units right then?

DJ types like to get upset about this stuff because they really think that knowing what tracks to play = musical talent.

I think it's great, every DJ should publish their playlists so the artists can get some love out there.

and it exposes the fine line between just a guy playing records and a "professional" dj, because that promo from a mate is usually all that sets hem apart from the rest. hawtin is comfortable with this "taboo" because hes doing stuff that sets him apart from the dj crowd by using technology.
