+1 Kudos to Richie. What I really wanted when I opened this thread is some more hilarious pics of him dressed as an extra from Blakes 7 with his hoovering geometric glow drone.Martyn wrote:+1doc holiday wrote: wow, actually he is promoting the artists he is playing and not just himself. sounds cool.

What is most amazing to me in this link are Richies hair implants. Damn they look good. No joking I'm going bald too and thinking of doing same thing.

Ah now Richie has no implants, appart from the firewire port behind his ear that connects his central nervous system to Tractor, Ableton and/or his weapon systemsChang wrote:

I assume most people on this board make dance music... would you not be pumped if RH played your track and you sold 200 units right then?
DJ types like to get upset about this stuff because they really think that knowing what tracks to play = musical talent.
I think it's great, every DJ should publish their playlists so the artists can get some love out there.

and it exposes the fine line between just a guy playing records and a "professional" dj, because that promo from a mate is usually all that sets hem apart from the rest. hawtin is comfortable with this "taboo" because hes doing stuff that sets him apart from the dj crowd by using technology.leisuremuffin wrote:whitegirllust wrote:What is wrong with people knowing the songs a DJ is playing again? i could never understand this keep everything secret thing. one dj back in the day [i forget, but it might have been todd terry] used to put stickers on the labels of his vinyl, so the crowd couldnt see the track names.

i don't really understand how this is exciting in times when shoutcast & mp3 tag live delivery is ancient off-the-shelf technology.
is this for people to check the playing record on their phones while being at his gig?
no trolling intended. ...really don't get the point of use.
