Omnisphere multi track one instance

Post by Roll Out » Wed May 06, 2009 4:37 pm

How does one set up one instance of Omnisphere with different patches in different tracks?
So I can record the tracks one at a time.
I must be missing something as I've tried for some time now.
Any detail in the set up in Omnsiphere and in Live would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Create 8 midi and 8 audio track after your Omni track. The ins on the audio tracks need to say Omnisphere then Omni-b through Omni-h. then record enable and/or turn the monitoring on for those tracks. For the midi tracks in the outs select Omni and midi channels 1 -8 then record enable and/or turn the monitoring on for those tracks. This gives you total control and flexiblity.

another option for setting it up, which I prefer --

use the "external instrument" on any track that you want to be one of omnisphere's instruments/patches. inside the ext. instrument, just set it to omnisphere, then choose which midi channel / audio output channel you want in there, make sure they line up with those set in omnisphere's onboard mixer, and bingo, you're done. it's very, very easy, just take a look at the ext. instrument and you'll see what I mean. This is the same way I create channels for Reason4, and also Kontakt.......works like a charm.
