There is no educational update price for L8. I already asked that and was told that all students have to pay the full update price.

You mean with other software you can update at a discount every year?
Man... I sure missed out during my teens.

Makes sense though. If you got the educational version, you already got Live 40% cheaper. One upgrade and you got the full version.

Hi Guys,
You will be able to upgrade from Live 7 Akai Professional APC Edition to Live 8 or Live 8 Suite at the same pricing as any Live LE to Full or Live Lite to Full upgrades.
Best,
Jesse

It's affordable I think because as you said we got the first live version nearly at half-price level.

The reason I asked the support about this when I upgraded to L8 was because the upgrade price was a bit confusing: They showed some rebate but didn't state what it was for. In fact it was the upgrade vs. full price, but I didn't get that

Yeah, they sure know how to make this all confusing. I gotta help a friend who doesn't have internet to upgrade. Took a while to get him to understand the options. I probably shouldn't have mentioned the 600€ discount on the 349€ upgrade. It throws people off

Yes, but it's the same as the non educational price.
