Automations depend on output latency?
Automations depend on output latency?
Please.... this is realy annoying me when automating fast and short things.... my automation curves depend on my output latency... why is that?
cheers

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
Hi,
please give me a detailed step-by-step how to reproduce this!
best,

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
yes, i'm working on it... figured out, that this is not a problem everytime....
I am working on a song with a lot of vsts and pretty high CPU usage and i got the problem there, but not in a new empty track...... I'll get back to this when i pointed out the problem more precisely...
cheers

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
Another thing that seems to depend on the output latency...
i can't say how to reproduce it but i am just working on another project with a lot of tracks and now the RETURN TRACKS got a delay on them depending on the output latency (just like track delay is set to 40ms for the return tracks)....... This is realy annoying because it isn't predictable, but it seems like somehow everytime i reach a certain point of complexity in a project, things turn on to depend on my output latency.... automation curves, return track stuff.....
when i start a new emopty project, all is fine........
I'll keep an eye on the causes that lead to this exept of having a lot of tracks....

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
yes, i "felt" the same problem too in a more complex recent project, where i had to set the latency to 2048 samples.
i also didnt manage to figure out what it really was, it just seemed that SOME automations were always significantly late.
when i realize the same problem again i'll try to investigate & report..
cheers!

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
I figured something out...
I had an ARTS ACCOUSTICS REVERB in Return Track 1....
I removed it and the problem was solved!...
I put the Reverb in a normal track and routed the return track to that track, so i kinda "cheated" live with that so I can still use the Reverb as a sendeffect.....
can't imagine why the reverb causes this problem in my case.... but it did...

aha! actually i'm using the same reverb lately, so this might have been the problem??DJNEO wrote:I figured something out...

Re: Automations depend on output latency?
yeah maybe! try it out!

Hello,
Thinking about your problem, did you check that "Option > Compensation de retard" (don't know how to tell it in english...)is NOT allowed ?
