I had to clear the racks
...but it sounds better like that in my high roof/small room anyway ...no need to stand up

Fair do. I was under the impression that the speakers were designed to sound best at ear level. A lot of manufacturers put this into their manuals.

Off axis frequency response may not be flat and they may have been designed to be flat at a certain listening position.

yeah but in my case the room is untreated so having the speakers 1 feet too high is not an issue. In fact, I used to have my speakers at ear-level but closer to the back wall and the monitoring was much worse. Going a bit up somehow helped stereo separation and further from the wall helped with the bass. I would have to use another room for a good sound, moving into a treated space would be the best improvement I could make to my studio; there are no lemons in my gear but I am severely limited by the bad acoustics of this room, bass traps could help

sweet rack!

built it myself with MDF..
all tabletop racks are still too big for my needs with clumsy feet and all..
its just big enough for the two synths and it can still hold a power socket + MIDI interface in the back..

how do you like the voyager?

incredible synth.. sold a MS20 and MonoPoly to buy it.. never looked back..

...and the NM1 is so fun indeed....

my first hardware synth that will never leave.. well it was a Micro first, later bought the Rack for polyphonic reasons..
love its sound character..
