No Midi Input - Was working - Now gone

Post by hardgristle » Fri May 08, 2009 10:10 pm

Mamaged to fix this problem myself by switching my brain on and hitting the "Arm" button on the midi track.

Told you I was a newbie ;)

----------------------
I'm a newbie to Ableton so I suspect I've sloppily hit some key that has killed all midi input.

I've been working in a project for a couple of hours, happily triggering sounds from VST's and
Impulse using my Radium keyboard which connects to ableton via the Firepod midi interface.

After loading in a few more drum sounds into impulse and attempting to trigger them with my keyboard
I was greeted with silence. I also tried my other instruments and nothings happening.

Did the usual, reboot PC, reboot keyboard and interface and nothing fixes it. Ableton shows an orange
light in the top right "Midi Track In Indicator" but nothing in the "Key/Midi In Indicator".

I've also tried triggering sounds from my computer keyboard, making sure that its activated but no joy.

I must have done something in a settings somewhere to have caused this. Can anyone help?

Cheers

Check in Live's Preferences > MIDI Sync > MIDI Ports > Input that both "track" and "remote" are enabled for all your MIDI controllers/interfaces.

Any Good?
