nah, good luck I say, some kids'll sign up. Who doesnt want to be a remix king?

I'd be remixing everyones shit if I had enough time.

Remixing for the Venga Boys, remixing Nancy Sinatra, remixing George fucking Formby.

I'm a remix machine me.

Ain't got the time though, shame in a way.

I loves me some remixing.

makes me feel big

and clever

Like smoking a cigarette does. important like.

Rave - at this point you're making an a-hole of yourself. nobody will read about this competition and not get your input. we get it.

it would be a major turnoff to someone reading this forum for the first time to see you being such a relentless d0uche to a remix contest.

chill out man.

do you know how many times people have told ME to chill out? ;)

still, I think a majority of readers here would rather the forum be more on the 'edgy' side than a nanny state like most forums. it's not 4chan but it sure as fuck isn't http://www.abletonlivedj.com .

S_vision - you should post your contest at http://www.abletonlivedj.com as well.

it's not, just some more DJ oriented users. it's more tightly moderated and the milquetoast membership there is more easily fooled by this sort of thinly veiled scam. they're mostly just DJs, wave something blinky in their eyes and they'll do just about anything. best of luck!

S Vision, don't get me wrong, I think the whole thing wreaks of deception and bullshit. personally the line "I'm posting for a friend's contest" is insulting to anyone's intelligence and Rave is making sense. also, your inability to answer questions simply sucks, I would not want to deal with you at all, not for a contest or even a casual collaboration. no offense, I don't know you.

still, if someone wants to enter a contest, who cares? Rave put up his cautionary tales, NOBODY will miss those when they read your thread, OK Rave/

Rave - FFS IMO FWIW GHBPPITCBTIRN you're taking yourself way too seriously. suppose he rips you off, like you're going to miss out on that big money making scheme from your music? how much money do you make from your tunes? nothing?

on the flipside, the scum that make money from other peoples' work through deception deserve to catch herpes simplex 27 in all their orifices. that doesn't have to mean a damn thing to you, just let it go.

or ridicule the guy right off the interweb. did you check to see how his posts were being received on other forums? surely he's done the same rounds as last time.

Thanks for cheering me up, this was getting way out of control..
I myself am working on the vocals, and I highly doubt anyone's getting ripped off here..

Thoughts welcome :o

scam or not the whole thing reaks of naffness. there are some decent rmx comps about where labels or producers are genuinly trying to discover new talent or just give producers a bit of confidence while obviously promotng themselves a little but i would not touch this pile of poo, only for the desperate i think.

You people are silly. If you're not interested, dont bother.
But don't detract others from getting a chance to be a part of something someone worked to organize.
Again! if this was a scam, the scammers would be putting their life on the line only to risk it for a couple of dollars?
Can someone explain the logic?
lets be real here, obviously you people are just scared or unable to put together a good remix, so you fill up your time shooting others down who can.

this looks like some well run 'contests.'
http://www.minimumnoise.com/Default.aspx

Minimum Noise is a music collaboration tool that connects musicians around the world. It works like this:
# A project is created, describing the kind of production requested and the prize offered
# Musicians audition for the project with sound bites or examples of previous work
# A winner is chosen and audio and money are exchanged

Campaign Offer

We are still sponsoring projects. This means that if you have a project in mind that you could create on Minimum Noise, tell us and we will offer to pay the prize of up to $100.
To apply for this, write us an email at [email protected].

Cheers,
Sammy and Kristian

does anyone know of any contests that are um *cough* more clearly run? ;)
