Nocturn - mapable way to focus a plug-in without mouse?

with a big set that has lots of plugs, it doesn't seem practical to use the Nocturn's HUD/browser - plus I like to see the plug's GUI which may or may not be open already.

currently I'm either clicking on the 'Plug-In Edit' button on the device title bar, or (more often) by clicking the 'Automap logo switch' switch at the bottom of the plug-in GUI.

any ideas how i could do this from the nocturn, without having to use the HUD/browser? addionally, it'd be nice to have a shortcut to cycle which open plug-in GUI was current on top of the others

In Live 8, device headers are midi mappable. So to do it with Nocturn, you'd have to use the Automap MIDI client and map the buttons to the plugins. As far as I know, Live doesn't allow you to midi map to the button that brings up 3rd party plugin's gui window, but as long as you have the gui opened when you have the device selected in Live, then the next time you click on the device, the gui should show up.

here's another one: Name every VST instance int the Nocturn GUI, DO use the browser but leave the VST GUI closed, you don't need it, and turn the knobs and LISTEN. You'll be amazed at the results I guarantee it.

i'll give it a try. i've usually got 10+ tracks and several VSTs on each on one, many with the same VST (e.g. EQ), though. is there any point naming them if i'm never looking at the Automap browser? how would you name them? current autonaming is reasonably clear...
