kontrol49 frustration
i need to see a screen shot of how someone has their's set up, cuz i must have mine wrong, i can't use the pitch bend or the mod wheel or any of the sliders or anything, only the keys to play an instrument work.

Re: kontrol49 frustration
I don't know about the Kontrol49, not to get my Novation Remote SL to work properly I had to turn everything on and have the control surface set to all the ports on it, not just one for the first I/O
Re: kontrol49 frustration
Enable all of the Inputs (MIDI in, Port A & Port B) in the first three spaces of the Control Surfaces section.

Re: kontrol49 frustration
thx for the help so far
if i go into an instrument at the bottom of the screen and open up the option that unfolds the device parameters, or map something with editing the midi map, i can control the sliders and faders, but i cant seem to use the pitch bend on anything. Also, i have 2 options for ouput, kontrol49 (midi out b), and kontrol49 (ctrl), how should i have those set up in the ouput column?

Open the Korg editor and see what is assigned to port A and port B. Kontrol49 is 2 in one device, the keyboard and corresponding functions (pitch bend, mod) will be on different port then controller part (which you have to select for automap)but once only.
The third port is for any ext midi when you use korg as midi interface.
Edit: Select only first line and not thrice as you did.

Re: kontrol49 frustration
Using the Editor is key. Often you'll find that the pitch/mod wheels or the damper pedal aren't assigned to the same setting in every Korg Scene. With the Editor line copy and pasting to fix is a breeze.
I made a new Scene where my damper pedal triggers the Looper's rec/play button.

+1 on using the editor.
Having 2 ports to send data from the K49 is a godsend, but you have to keep your ports in mind when setting up your system and assigning stuff.
Also, I think the editor could use a redesign. I base myself on the fact that I can edit a whole scene on the BCR from the hardware in half the time or less than it takes me to edit a Scene for the K49 in the editor, and editing from the hardware isn't much more intuitive and I think lacks some functions.

Re: kontrol49 frustration
thanks again, your feedback is very helpful...
is there an editor librarian tutorial anywhere, i cant make sense out of it.
edit: or is anyone willing to share the live scene that they have made, or make a tutorial on how to make one?
