I haven't really played out in a while but I used to have two wallets, one would have CDs containing one release each, as if they were purchased CD singles (i.e. one song, all mixes). The other wallets would contain compilations (both shop-purchased and self compiled).
Later, I started to burn CDs organised by key (using Mixed In Key), and my two wallets were then split into genres (so I had one that was soulful & deep house, disco, hip-hop, soul, etc. and the other wallet was more peak-time, main room house music.

after how tracks fit after each other in a mix, hence "the track after the other" on a different CD so you can mix them.
just label / name your CDs properly.
