Volume lowers when exporting audio

Hello

I use ableton mainly for doing reedits on tracks, and also putting together some dj sets. When I export the audio and play it through itunes the volume is noticeably lower. To confirm this, I reload the edited tracks back into ableton next to their original version and I can clearly see on the waveform that the edited and exported track is MUCH lower than the original.

What can I do to prevent this? What is the correct procedure for exporting tracks?

check to see if Dithering is enabled in your export options. Set to No Dithering and it should be at the same level.
