MIDI from linux laptop to windows or mac laptop

Post by LouisC » Mon May 18, 2009 10:07 am

hey all.

was wondering if anybody knew a good solution for getting MIDI from a linux laptop into a windows or mac laptop.

i'm running seq24 by itself on an older, but still solid laptop with linux installed on it. (ubuntu studio)
on my windows laptop or my macbook (haven't decided which one i'm going to run yet, the macbook is playing up a bit atm), i will be running a couple of programs/synths including Ableton which will hosting drum synths and samplers etc. and accepting all the MIDI notes from seq24 on the linux laptop.

is there anyway to get the MIDI over from the linux laptop onto the others? as atm I do not have a soundcard/audio interface with MIDI out running on the linux box. i only have an audio kontrol 1 which is for the windows/mac laptop.

cheers, lou.

probably puredata.
To connect my windows xp laptop to max osx I use max/msp.
But puredata can do the same.

Pm me if you want to see my patches.
The max/msp runtime is free.
