Yea. Leopard is more stable w/L8 in my experience.

Isn't that what this post is all about? Read the f'ing thread. RTFT (?)

I'm on 10.4.11 too, and Live crashes so much, I turned back to logic for that reason...
I am seriously considering to update to Leopard too, and after reading all these posts, I think I might 'jump'...
It's a lot of work, but hey...it was time to clean up my system anyways
