Akai APC40 uses for arragement/production?

I dont use Ableton much in session view...and i use ableton for music pruduction, nothing live...is this product worth the money for those uses or is it manly for Live preformances? thanks

if you don't use session view much, I can't imagine what use the APC40 would be to you. but then again, if you don't use session view much, I can't imagine what good ableton really can be to you (compared to other traditional/linear daw's, seeing as you must be pretty much using ableton as one....)

I don't do much live stuff (maybe apc40 will change that) but I'm mostly psyched about the apc40 for doing jam/sequencing of clips in session view; trying to build crazy new loops out of quickly triggered clips when you're using a mouse can just be a real drag...oh bad pun...but yeah. it's all about workflow/sequence speed+feel. i do extensive sequencing, re-sequencing, re-mixing in session view, 'recording' over to arrangement......yep apc40 will be a godsend.

Deejay1, I asked the same question in the apc40 sticky and recieved no answer... Meanwhile i think there will be a faster accees to many key functions, especially if you map parameters to macros. I prepared some of my main plugins for that. So hopefully work gets a more spontaneous character. Maybe you first use session view as a notepad before you go into details.

You can record clip triggering and parameter changes to the arrange view from the session view using the APC40. This means you can sequence your music by "playing" it instead of arranging it by mouse.

i think imma give it a go...i have a friend @ Guitar Center who will take it back no question if i cant find it useful...ill let the people wondering the same question some incite after i pick it up!
