Group triggering using a normal midi controller

Post by rubberduck » Wed May 20, 2009 1:52 am

Is it possible to scroll through Live 8 as if you have an APC40 with a midi controller (such as a Trigger Finger)

Basically I want to be able to adjust the tracks I launch without changing notes or midi mapping. Is that possible or do i need to buy an APC40 to do that?

Cheers

would be so bloody cool but i think it's an apc40 thing only. i think they'd want as many people to buy it as possible :P

maybe once max4live rolls around something like this will be possible!

there are definitely ways to assign scrolling through scenes with any old controller. hit midi map and check the arrows above the master volume.

maybe theres an option for scrolling through tracks too?.. assigning the L+R arrows ..?

i just set that up last night. 2 buttoms for up and down and a button for each of the 4 channels... then one extra for scene.

That's a shame man. Yeah I know you can stroll through rows but what I want to be able to do is scroll through 4 rows at a time so i can jam more freely with loops. Oh well, gonna have to save the pennies for the APC40

Hey I get how you scroll up and down, but how do you assign a relative location to the 4 channel triggers? I thought you could only assign midi triggers to specific clips?

Wonder if it'll be possible to use an "APC-40 emulation mode" as we do already today with the Mackie... that'd be nice...

^ in midi-map mode, play buttons appear for each track at the bottom of the session grid. They will play whatever's currently highlighted.
