Cant type letters in fm8, when hosting with live

Hi.
When trying to dial in numbers and letters in fm8, i get no response. When using standalone, it works like a charm. Ive tried turning of the computer midi keyboard option, but with no luck. Are there any suggestions on how to solve this?

Computer keys input doesn't work in some plugins on Windows
Format: VST
Platform: PC
Status: If the DebugOption "-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins" is set in the Options.txt, we make sure that all key messages reach a plugin's window in front. That way, edit fields are again editable in the NI VST plug-ins. On the downside, key messages do not reach Live anymore as soon as some objects in the window of the VST plug-in are selected. Thus, for example, once an edit field has been edited, Live's playback cannot be started via Space until Live's main window regains focus.

So, you have to create a text file called "Options.txt" in the same folder where Live's Preferences.cfg file is located.

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live [version]\Preferences\Options.txt

Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is how to make it visible:
1. Launch Explorer.
2. Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3. Check "Select hidden files and folders."

Enter the following text in the top left corner of that file and save it again:

-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins

Hi Martin,

not exactly, but I assume you should be taken to the preferences folder by choosing "get support" in the help menu, then clicking "show the preferences folder".

moljen, you always have to create the file, so Windows 7 is no difference... where preferences.cfg is, that's where the file should be created
