issues with midi mapping

so i have 8.0.2 with os x 10.5.7 i am using a microKontrol and trying to assign pads control the "track activator" and i can make assignments alright its just that when the track is activated (err On) my korg pad light is off and vice versa. i've tried playing with the invert range and when i do that instead of reversing the params it causes the activator to blink on and off. I've tried setting the min and max values to various numbers and i only get the 2 types of behavior stated above anyone have any ideas? i just want it to be when the track is on the light is on, simple right?
